That analogy is great to explain what to expect (or not) about tumblr or LJ. I'm looking forward to learn more of the little things I've missed so far.
I'm not sure about the conflict situations. I've seen it here and there and it got much more hateful on tumblr. Maybe because people didn't know each other that well and didn't come to an end? It was in another fandom and really appalling. So, I'm careful and way more reluctant with voicing my own thoughts on tumblr as on LJ. Instead I try to reblog stuff that shows them, but it sometimes feels restrictive. Maybe I'm the only one having this problem?
